    Dear Mr Maurer,
I just read your article and I was moved beyond believe in the experience you shared with your patient in the Feb. article of JAPPA…
I am embarassed to say I usually just flip your the journal. I am so thankful your article caught my eye. My name is Maureen and I have been a PA since 1996. Reading your article, bought me back to my 2 or more experiences, similiar to your that I remember as if it were yesterday… I hope and plan to carry those experiences with me for the rest life… one as a PA student and one as a surgical PA working at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Plastic reconstruction

Lately, I have been guilty of sweating the “small stuff” and I want to thank you for bringing me back to the reality of our humanity, my patients similar to your patient, and actually my own mother humbled me with their strength to fight…

I question if will ever handle my own disease be it cancer or whatever is in the “cards” for me the way, my patients and mother did…. You are an excellent writer, I will look for your book in Barnes and Knoble or the internet ….
    Many Thanks Again,
    Maureen
